Emergency First Aid

Emergency First Aid is for people who want a general knowledge of first aid principles and the

emergency treatment of injuries. Skills include: victim assessment, CPR, choking and what to do

for external bleeding, heart attack, stroke wounds and burns. Includes CPR-B certification.

What You’ll Learn in Our Emergency First Aid & CPR Course

  • First Aid Goals & Legal Implications – Understand the purpose of first aid and the legal responsibilities involved in providing care.
  • Universal Precautions – Learn the importance of safety measures, including handwashing, barrier devices, and gloves.
  • ABC Priorities – Understand the anatomy and physiology of airway, breathing, and circulation in emergency situations.
  • Primary Assessment – Assess victims by checking:
  • Scene survey
  • Level of consciousness
  • Airway, breathing, and circulation
  • Major bleeding and injury mechanism
  • Secondary Assessment – Learn how to check vital signs, perform head-to-toe exams, and gather medical history.
  • CPR & AED – Practice one-rescuer CPR for adults, children, and infants, and how to use an AED.
  • Airway Obstruction – Simulate treatment for conscious and unconscious victims with obstructed airways, including special scenarios (pregnant, obese).
  • EMS Activation – Learn how to direct bystanders to activate EMS effectively.
  • Emergency Care – Recognize and treat victims with:
  • Respiratory issues (asthma, hyperventilation)
  • Shock, heart attack, bleeding, stroke
  • Abdominal, burn, and facial injuries
  • Unconscious victims (fainting and more)
